Prologue
In the deep heart of the jungle in one of the numerous pyramids Lord Tezla awakens from his trance.
His massive dark blue eyelids did not open for his meditation was not interrupted externally,
the skink priests know better than this, a demonic invasion upon Lustria would be required for the priests to even consider entering his vault and disrupt his quest for enlightenment. No, his servants would not dare such a thing, the calling was internal, from another Slann thousands of miles away located in another section of Lustria called for him.
"Ancient one the last attempt has... failed” the Slann said, _> more comming

Chapter 1

In an isolated mining village somewhere deep inside Lustria, skinks from all around gathered to hear the news, for a messenger of the legendary city temple had arrived with an announcement. He wore a silk robe colored in bright orange; upon his head were various green feathers attached to his skin with the help of golden rings. But the most eye caching thing about the messenger was the shiny gold jewelry hanging off his neck. His clean light blue chest was covered with golden jewelry all shaped in the form of the gods they worshiped, a serpent to represent Sotek, a Lizard for Itzl and so on. Adding to the visual value of the charms, glittering gems would reflect the sunlight in various directions as the skink’s chest exhaled and inhaled.
An outsider would be able to see the irony deployed inside this village today, the gold charms that pronounced the social status and distinguished the messenger from the crowd could have been extracted from this very village, where hundreds of skinks have died inside the mining pits. But no Skink would ever doubt their purpose or put to question the value of the skink lives lost to deliver the gold from mother earth. Skinks knew that daily sacrifices were a necessity. All lizardmen knew that they were created by the old ones for a purpose, and their purpose was to serve.
The fact that the sun rose daily combined with the protection of gods and the Slann was all the skinks needed. It has been the way for thousands of years and will be the way for thousand years more. Someone is needed to rule and many are needed to serve.
The messenger had arrived not long since the awakening of the gods* and came without notice. A skink of such importance would not travel alone. He was accompanied by 2 groups of four skinks riding upon terradons. These skinks were armed with Javelins while their swords were tucked away between the back of their arm and leather straps with black and white beads. The reptilian creatures looked unease as the villagers gathered around them in a circular notation. The messenger did not dismount from his ride for it was easier for him to be seen and see. He waited until all the skinks had arrived. In contrast with dry skins all skink arrived and waited silently for the messenger’s announcement. The jungle was a dangerous place and remaining silent over extended periods of time proved to be a lifesaving characteristic.
“Our lord of Lords has spoken.” The messenger loudly stated.
“The Greatest has blessed us with his wisdom” he said and continued looking into the crowd. “He demands all those with the markings of Tepok to gather to Itza at once, the greatest is looking for his next apprentice”. A skink from the crowd entered the space between the messenger’s guard and the crowd itself. He then kneeled and faced his back to the messenger as it is custom to never look directly into the lords or their messengers, for it is as looking into the sun itself. Nor refer to them with their true names for it is rumored that they can hear their name called out. Phasing away the skink asked:” Does not the greatest; select his apprentice from the inside the temple of Itza?”
The posture of the skink showed respect but his words did not.
The villager could fell the messengers eyes burn a whole his back, still he remanded still.
“There is no doubt in the Greatest’s instructions”. The messenger furiously yield.
“Do not forget that ever... again” he continued. “You are all ordered to inform all those blessed by God Tepok to present to Itza immediately. That is all the greatest asks of you. May the gods protect us.”
“MAY THE GODS PROTECT US” said the crowd, and the messenger flew off to the next village and the rest of the riders followed him. The crowd of skinks quickly dissolved as they turned away and headed towards the mining pits.

***
“This time Lock-Pocko has gone too far”, Helko said. “We are not ready for stealing ...”
“ssh” Kopa sharply interrupted. “He is signaling us too approach.”
Lock-Pocko-Locko was the first of his skink brothers to exit the pool during their spawning a couple of circles ago; ever since he has leaded his brotherhood into various adventures for fame and reputation. Lock-Pocko-Locko, or Lock-Pocko as those who know him well call him, was a bit short even for a skink but with the nerve and attitude of a demon. His name in empire language means crazy fierce little one, a name which he was given ever since he entered a kroxigor slumber cave and woke up every single kroxigor inside for no other reason but for his own personal amusement. But that was just the beginning of his insanely dangerous shenanigans, since then he has knocked down a saurus temple guard, claimed to have spotted a new empire invasion and a set loose a group of stegadons in a populated town. His latest accomplishment was the killing of a black elf scouting party and the capture of their cold ones. His actions have not remained unnoticed though; as a result Lock-Pocko has been exiled from dozens of villages and escaped from the clutches of death countless times.
No matter the task or situation though, Lock- Pocko has always had his 4 brothers, Helko, Kopa, Jalo and Miso, by his side. It is the brotherly bond that has kept them together through a series of events. The wisest of them all, Kopa, knows that Lock-Pocko can not be talked out off any of his homicidal ideas nor was it wise to disagree with him, so Kopa does the next best thing a brother could do, generate a plan.
Helko the third brother skink is the quietest among the group. His logic would always contradict Lock-Pocko’s ideas but never strongly or bravely enough to have any affect upon the group. He was the pacifist between them. When diplomacy and calming down enraged crowds was needed Helko would step in. Half of the times it would work the other half they needed to run for there life’s and never return to that area. His fighting skills were average but he was an excellent tracker.
Jalo and Miso are identical skinks. The emerged from the spawning pool together a rare situation even in Lizardmen spawning, ever since they have developed a strong bond between them. They always travel together never leaving each others side. They are strong with a blade and deadly with a blowpipe. They provide additional muscle when needed and increase the group’s numbers. Jalo and Miso are always fun and playful even at difficult times. They were all slightly different except the twins but their love for each other had got them through many crazy citations they brought upon themselves.
Somewhere deep inside the Lustrian jungle two skinks ran through the dense rainforest, were massive long trees with countless vines blocked out the sunlight from the jungle floor. Survival of the fittest is applied even to the jungle’s vegetation. From the moment a Lustrian tree is spouted it condemned to constantly battle and struggle for sunlight. The stronger and healthier plants would grow over their competitors absorbing all of the suns rays while casting their shadow upon the smaller weaker trees concealing them into their damnation. The plants who reach first towards the sun are the ones that today cover the sky. The plants that were less fortunate now lay rotting upon the thick soil slowly decomposing back into Lustria. Even so, small rays of light would slice into the darkness of the forest revealing the surroundings. The jungle floor was covered in a sea of colorful leaves, freshly fallen and still moist. These leaves mixed with the fertile brown mud of the jungle provided an excellent cover for thousands of incects, small reptiles and rodent size animals to move undetected. The humidity created from this warm moist atmosphere would ware out any humanoid organism in mere minutes. Any humanoid organism except the lizardmen, that is. Jalo and Miso ran next to each other using a fast pace while ducking under large complexes of vines or jumping over massive stumps and tangles of roots were needed. They ran in a strange manner, they ran to the left and suddenly would start running to their right with no visible pattern, skinks would never run in a line. You could guess there destination but never the path they would use. All skinks would run in such a matter confusing its prey or predator. In this case the two brothers were the prey; Miso would occasionally turn to see if they were followed while running. For a moment he thought he saw something move behind them deep inside the forest, and then turned to catch up Jalo. “We should increase are pace” Miso said.
“Is it still following us?”
“Oh yes and closing up” answered Miso.
“We should be able to outrun it, shouldn’t we?” questioned Jalo.
“We should increase our pace” replayed Miso after a moment of silence.
While running the skinks were reconsidering the idea of their brothers; why with every pace they regretted more and more the plan of Lock-Pocko. The plan of stealing eggs, Carnosaurus eggs that is.
On the other side of the valley the other 3 skinks moved towards their goal with great precaution; to great for Lock-Pocko’s likings.
“Move in fouls! Come on!!” Said Lock-Pocko inside of him as he waived toward Kopa and Helko.
The plan was quite simple; theoretically, Jalo and Miso were to lead the mother carnosaur away from the nest by letting her pick up their sent and making funny noises. Then run towards the river not far from here and hide. In the meantime lock-Pocko, Helko and Kopa circled the nest quickly and were to steal precious egg. Carnosaur eggs were extremely rare and even rarer to be captured. Stealing from the jungles ultimate predator was equal to a death wish.

Jalo and Miso now were heavily breathing after 2 hours of jungle running. They were almost at the river for they could hear the sound of water. Jalo turned to have a look behind he could feel danger but could not see it. Suddenly the whole jungle went silent. Jalo turned and ran to catch up with Miso. The River was just ahead Miso could now see it. The green river was the point that they would be safe from their predator. The skinks jumped with out a second thought. The water instantly relaxed there burning leg muscles. The adrenaline rush of the hunt and the fear washed of them like the mud on their skin. Playfully they twirled around each other inside the river then swam with all their speed across the rivers bottom. Still in the jungle you are never safe. So the skinks two minute of crazy swimming ended. Very carefully they submerge the upper part of their heads. They scanned the river shore for any signs of danger. Jalo spotted the Carnosaur first even though the dinosaur was massive in size it could blend into the natural habitant extremely well. As Miso spotted the dinosaur his eyes opened even wider realizing something devastating.
“Jalo “he said, “that is not the mother that we were supposed to distract”
“Then where’s the mother???” asked Jalo. They looked at Miso straight in the eyes while wondering for the safety of their brothers.

They were deep inside the jungle were a large circular opening was revealed with a large nest in its center,
Finally the two brothers appeared from the under the massive leaves of a yucca and trailed towards the nest. There they met lock-Pocko.
“What took you guys so long? Have you got poison in your legs? I could ride a turtle and still beat you to here.” The Brothers did not reply back. Kopa moved the vegetation to a side revealing 3 massive eggs. They were bright white covered with brown and red stains. Skinks, even though creatures of the jungle were still dazzled looking uppon one of the biggest eggs of nature. “That is massive! How are we going to lift it??” said Helko. “Don’t look at me!” said Kopa. “I have never seen a carno egg before either” “Will you two shut up, lift it on my back and strap it too me, we don’t have much time.”
Suddenly a loud roar sounded not far from here. That has all the motivation they needed to end the conversation at get to work. The jungle then went suddenly quite. “Brothers I have a bad feeling about this” said Helko.
“You always have a bad feeling about everything, let’s go”. Suddenly they heard the roar again and turned to see a section of the forest shaking left and right as the carnosaur steeped out of the thick jungle into the opening. The carnosaur looked directly at them and roared in a high pitch and began to run; towards them.
“Run Run Run” screamed Kopa.
Even if they made it to the jungle there was no escape from a four tonne enraged mother. “This way” shouted Helko, “a cave is towards here”. The bothers knew that lock-Pocko could not cover the distance with the egg. Kopa screamed to Lock “Get rid of the egg! we are not going to reach the cave with it”. Lock-Pocko was crazy but not stupid. He preferred to leave empty handed then to not leave at all. Kopa was hopping that the retrievement of her egg would slow down the carnosaur but it did not. They had almost reached the edge of the jungle. The vibration of the carnosaur’s thundering footsteps shocked the bones of the skinks as they ran for their lives. They skinks leaped into the jungle zig zaging across the jungles dark trees. Not far behind trees broke behind them like dry twigs as the mother moved in for the kill. They could see the cave’s opening. It was quite big but not enough to fit a Carnosaur. They were running like never before. They were terrified like never before. Suddenly Lock-Pocko ran into Helko from his left side throwing Helko off balance and into the bushes.
“Stay there!!” he shouted.
The carnosaur continued its charge toward the other 2. Then Kopa looked at Lock-Pocko and nodded to him. Suddenly Kopa turned sharply right after a massive tree. Again the carnosaur ignored the leaving skink.
The carnosaur sprang its body forward jaw wide open, Lock-Pocko jumped in mid air trying to avoid the enormous mouth. His jump was not good enough to avoid the carnosaur’s dive. The beast snapped its jaw with hatred in its eye. The skinks watched in horror. Lock-Pocko landed on the monsters upper lip right above the carnosaur’s teeth. Instantly the skink rebounded off the attacker while the carnosaur snapped again. But the carnosaur’s dive was intended for only one lethal strike. The carnosaur body was already stretched out to the fullest. The enormous predator lost her balance setting Lock-Pocko out of reach of second snap. He flew into the trees and clawed himself upon a branch. He made a whole rotation around the branch to reduce his momentum. Simultaneously the carnosaur hit the ground the earth shook like when the gods are furious and as scraped across the dry soil a massive cloud of dust raised covering Lock Pocko’s position. Quickly before the carnosaur got on her feet, he pulled himself upon the branch and ran from the branch towards the tree trunk hands extended swinging in the air to balance his swift footsteps. He jumped upon the massive trunks and with claws and nails changed his position so he could not be seen from the carnosaur’s angle. The carnosaur on it 2 legs approached the trees towards the skink. It could not see him. The carnosaur stopped. The mother gave a mighty roar and suddenly another Carnosaur appeared at the far end near the caves entrance. We would have never made it to the cave even if we could outrun the mother, thought Lock-Pocko from his hiding place. His next thought was that maybe his hearts was beating to loud out of fear and give him away. He was screaming internally to him self. The carnosaur’s head approached to see or smell the intruder. Kopa had climbed a tree at from his hiding place he was hopping that Helko would not panic and make a run for it. The carnosaur’s head was next to the tree in which Lock-Pocko was hiding. He tilted his head and looked at the beast from under its chin. She was massive, and was still looking for him. Suddenly she gave another enormous roar and trampled back to her nest. By the time the echo of her voice faded she was out of site concealed into the great rainforest. She had left her nest for too long unprotected and returned to it. Helko still could not move. The running and adrenaline rush had drained him. His grip loosened and suddenly his mind was put to rest and his body slapped into the muddy ground.

Chapter 2

The dark figures were gathered around a glass table. The table was the only object in the room that was not obsidian. [Assassinations with poison daggers and small bolts were becoming a too common incident. The look through material of the table did not allow for such sort of transactions]. The shape of the table was the shape of a large diamond laid on its side and stretched out. It single purpose was to act as a gathering point; for its different angles did not allow objects to rest upon it, its sharp edges forbided hands to be placed upon it. Opposite from the table was a true scale obsidian dragon. It was hard to appreciate the handwork of the sculptor for the enormous statue was placed in the darkest corner of the room. The light from the magical torches revealed only but a fraction of the sculpted beast.
The framework across the room was dragonish and black symbols spread across the wall. The selling had an enormous picture of a black dragon and a white dragon fighting each other. The black dragon in the image had its jaw around the white dragon neck.
The figures in the room were covered in dark cloth hoods covering their faces, none of them moved but each was examining each other, ready to react to the slightest motion. Suddenly a horse was heard from afar outside. Minutes later the door opened to reveal another hooded figure The figure stormed inside. The others raised from there seat and bowed. The individual walked towards the obsolete dragon and sat upon its paw and rested his back upon the curved belly of the statue, for it was a dragon throne. Engulfing himself into the dragons embrace and darkness made it unable for the others to see his face even with their excellent vision.
“Speak” he said and immediately all others reveled there faces, simultaneously with one swift move. They were Dark Elves, a mix of male and female almost impossible for a non elf to distinguish.
One of the females answered her lord’s call.
“My lord, the venom is almost complete. It will paralyze anything…but its effect is still irreversible. It will be done my lord.”
“DW1 do not disappoint me. Your venom shall be tested”
“Yes my lord, I am aware of it.
DW1 successor DW2 had claimed to have created the perfect venom the Dark Elf King’s purposes.
A drug that would paralyze the victim’s body but retain all vitals functional until an antidote was given. The Elf King put the drug to test as he locked DW2 in a dungeon with one Hydra drugged with her own product. She was to remain in the dungeon with the beasts for 8 days, if her drug was successfully as claimed she would exit the dungeon alive. But DW2 had never thought to test it on anything larger than steeds. On the 5th day the screams of the elf witch could be heard from outside the dark elf kingdom. Needless to say the dark elf king was fairly disappointed. He had wasted another 3 months in his plan. And even though time had no physical affect on him he mentally growed weary from the constant failures.
“My lord my scouts have been… unable to locate it. But we have come across more excellent speciments.”
“NO I want that one you fool. THAT is the one.” The king busted as we leaned forward from his throne revealing his jaw and fangs from the dark as he spat in anger his words.
Now standing the king continued.
“My order WAS clear, do you dought my ability of giving clear orders? Tell me do you? “
The elf saw that his silence infuriated the king even more, so he sharply and boldly answered.
“No my Lord. I never …”
“Then you ARE simply a fool” Said the king as he twisted his blade inside the elf’s spine. With left hand wrapped around the victims neck we spoke into the elfs ear while looking into the eyes of the other elfs with a smirk on his face.
“If you understood my order and yet suggest something alternative to my order. You are truly a fool. And I can not have fools on my side.” He said to the dead body.
The elf body fell forward onto the table as the king removed his sword; the dead elf’s face was sliced into many pieces as it fell upon the sharp table. Instantly blood rushed towards the floor yet all others remained motionless. As the king wiped his blade with the clock of his latest victim he raised his eyes and asked:
“So, does anyone feel foolish enough to doubt my command?” the king asked.
Silence followed.
“I did not think so.” He continued. “ DM1 assign a new non fool intelligence officer for Lustria before I start doubting your ability of receiving commands” there was no smirk in his face.
That shall be all, you may go… all but for DW3 . I wish to speak with you.

Chapter 3

”Over here” Helko said as he found Lock-Pocko face down in the mud.
“Help me lift him, quickly” he added.
